Abstract
Alkaline phosphatase (ALP) is an important biochemical enzyme involved in many physiological and pathological processes occurring in the body (embryogenesis, osteogenesis, digestion, cholestasis, oncogenesis, etc.) Knowledge of the role of this enzyme in human ontogenesis allows us to judge the normal or pathological development of the body.
Doctors are not fully aware of this enzyme and its role.
The purpose of the article is to summarize the scientific literature on the enzyme and provide it to the practitioner.
Research methods: scientific literature (online resources, scientific journals).
In the course of the work, an analytical method was applied

Keywords: alkaline phosphatase (ALP), cancer marker, osteogenesis, hypophosphatasia, cholestasis
